iconstorykeeperI came across this in a roundabout way – I was wandering about through the blog of someone who liked my entry from yesterday {Adventures and Musings of a Hedgewitch} and they’d shared this idea on from someone else {Magickos Musings}.

I like the idea muchly, and think I’ll find it easier to do this idea than the Pagan Blog Project et al that are floating about.  One blog a month, the topics are definitely interesting and easier to blog to than an alphabet-letter prompt (and seriously, how many entries can we all stomach on the uses of amethyst or the many and varied opinions on Crowley anyway?)  and actually encourage us to read something non-fiction that might be educational in at least one case.

So, without further ado, I present to you, the 12 Month Challenge!  Here’s the skinny;

One blog (or more if you like) per month, utilising the following topics:

  1. Reflection Time another year has come and gone, looking back what have you learned?
  2. Oh My Gods How do you define the Divine?
  3. Atlantis What is your take on the mythic lost continent?
  4. City Mouse, Country Mouse explain how where you live affects your spiritual practice.
  5. Mythic Mayhem Pick one mythic creature and imagine what the world would be like if it was not only real but a common animal.
  6. Culinary Wizard get in the kitchen and create a magical recipe
  7. Off Topic talk about your hobbies.
  8. Never Stop Learning read a non-fiction book on a subject you know little about and write a review.
  9. Silly September share something that makes you giggle
  10. Histories Mysteries talk about some of your favourite historical mysteries from hidden treasures, missing people, unsolved murders to unexplainable archaeology.
  11. Giving Thanks talk about the blogs you follow and why you enjoy them.
  12. Get crafty Create a solar themed craft for the Solstice and include instructions.

I can see at least 3 that I shall find either challenging already – 3, 6 and 12 – seeing as I’m on the fence about Atlantis, can barely boil water without burning it and have the craft skills of a cabbage leaf!  But I’m also looking forward to the challenge they’re offering too.  And isn’t that part of life, seeing challenges and having a go at them?   So, keep a lookout, I’ll be blogging with a degree of regularity this year!  🙂
